Double Krustyburger with Cheese
Strange tales of the current economy: the pizza wars have been resumed, as Domino's reworks their recipe and Pizza Hut tries to keep people from trying it with what has a be a money-losing deal (any size, any number of toppings, $10). McDonald's recently did what McDonald's hardly ever does, and put the Big Mac on sale.
What seemed to be the starting gun for this new buyer's market in fast food was when Burger King dropped its double cheeseburger to $1 (from $2+), at a time when even McDonald's had raised the price on its double cheeseburger (replacing it on the $1 menu with a half-cheese double-cheeseburger). Which is all well and good; Burger King burgers kick McDonald's ass.
Yesterday, though, I saw Burger King diss Wendy's in its bid for double-cheeseburger supremacy. True, Wendy's has been touting its 99ยข "double stack" double cheeseburger for many months now. But, come on, Burger King; Wendy's isn't the enemy.
