Aaahh, infotainment!
While at McDonald's on Saturday [yes, McDonald's; I like Big Macs. Wanna make sump'm of it?], I saw a bit of CNN's coverage of the London bombings. I don't know what the show was called, but was about 7 pm EDT. It appeared to be a daytime-talk-show in the guise of a news broadcast. It was in a great auditorium, with a woman anchor/host wandering the floor and the aisles. They were speaking with two British reporters in London, and the audience was given the opportunity to ask questions. One of the reporters mentioned the loss of a bicycle, and the moronic anchor/host loudly proclaimed that CNN would replace it she gave her word!
Why do we even bother pretending that television news is actually about the information any more?
