What Has Science Done For Me Lately?

While stubbornly finishing the Myth volume in Oxford Univ. Press's "Very Short Introductions" series, I actually found a couple of things worth considering. Unlike the author, I am sympathetic to post-modern thought, finding it interesting if not materially useful. But in the conclusion, he makes a few points that lead me to this idea: that relativizing and/or mythicizing science does not contribute much to the elucidation of either myth or science. I'm not competent to discuss the idea now, but it is something I will be thinking about.
