Weird Stuff I Have Noticed Lately

Mostly environmentally related. The macro thing is, of course, the weather: the apparently unusually warm, snowless winter just past; this spring's significantly-above-average rainfall; and this seemingly unusually cool May.

But what I mainly mean are some micro things:
  • the large number (dozens) of desiccated earthworms I have seen on sidewalks after days without rain,
  • the relatively large number (n = 3) of dead birds I have seen along sidewalks (all from the "small" kind of local bird. There are seven kinds that I can distinguish: orioles, pigeons, seagulls, mockingbirds, "smalls," "mediums," and "larges." The last three categories each comprise, as best I can tell, a single species; I just don't know what they are),
  • the late ripening of those blackberry-like things that grow on a couple of trees (and that make a royally messy patch on the sidewalk when they fall),
  • the profusion of wild strawberries in a lawn where I've never before seen them in nearly four years of walking past 10 times a week.
I'm inclined to include the simultaneous peak precipitation of oak pollen, maple 'helicopters,' and sycamore seeds that happened a month or so ago, although they do seem a bit more likely to be associated anyway.

Do I think these mean anything? No. Do I wonder? Η∈||, yes, I wonder. But I have no reason to think they mean anything.
