Everything Old is New Again
South American Indians have freaky new perspective on time!
Except, it's totally not.
The ancient Greeks visualized the stream of time as flowing from behind you to in front of you: because, like what's in front of you, you can 'see' the past; but, like the future, what's behind you is hidden.
Maybe there is some truth to the idea that learning new things pushes old things out: not from an individual memory, but from generational memory within disciplines or organizations or institutions. Just a thought.
